Performance Lifestyle works with a person first approach to provide an individual coaching and mentoring service to all competing athletes. Our aim is to support athlete wellbeing and to encourage and facilitate their personal and professional development alongside their competitive sporting careers as they move on to and through their performance pathway. We help to build a support network around you and advise on areas such as anti-doping.
Physical Preparation in essence is the time between competition. From the final whistle we are mentally and physically preparing for the next match. Whether we are recovering, preventing injury or improving performance, it all has an affect on our ability to compete and how well we compete. Strength and conditioning is a huge factor when it comes to physical prep. Other areas we talk about include yoga, stretching and foam rolling.
Sports psychology is centred on how psychology influences sport and how it can improve performance for athletes, coaches and referees, from amateur to elite-level. We will give you a basic understanding of sports psychology, discuss what psychological factors effect performance and what tools you can potentially use to give you a mental edge over your competitors. Mental health and wellbeing is just as important as physical health and wellbeing and should not be neglected. Our mental health champions are first aid trained and on hand to discuss your mental wellbeing, particularly in the context of sport, and how you can improve yours by being active and learning new skills. Nutrition is vitally important. Have you heard the term 'we are what we eat', well its true. If you eat good, you'll perform good. But it's not all just about eating good food, how do we fuel for optimal performance? One thing that is for certain is that we are all different and our needs and goals are not the same. You will discuss this with one of our nutrition coaches and they will offer nutritional support based on you. Great recipe ideas included.
